Lovable AI for beginners
What Is Lovable AI? I built a real feature with it.
Lovable turns a plain-English description into a working website or web app. I tested it on this site by building a live Idea Board—with voting, approvals, and an admin login—in two prompts and without writing code.

Video walkthrough
Watch the Idea Board go from prompt to published feature.
Watch me turn two plain-English prompts into a working Idea Board with voting, approvals, and an admin login. Both prompts and the complete walkthrough are below.
What makes it different
It builds more than a pretty page.
Lovable is an AI app builder, not just a drag-and-drop website editor. The visible page, saved data, access rules, and deployable code can all live in one project.
A real interface
Describe the page in plain English and watch it appear beside the chat as working code.
A database behind it
Store ideas, votes, statuses, and links instead of building a page that only looks interactive.
Logins and permissions
Give visitors simple access while protecting approvals and status changes behind an admin login.
Code you can keep
Open every React and TypeScript file, download the codebase, or hand it to a developer later.
Two-way Git sync
Connect GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket so changes stay synced outside Lovable.
One-click publishing
Move the finished change from preview to your real domain when it passes your tests.
How to use Lovable
Describe it. Test it. Keep asking.
The useful skill is not coding. It is explaining the job clearly and checking the result like you would with any other builder.
Step 01
Describe the outcome
Explain who the page is for, what visitors should be able to do, what needs to be saved, and who controls it.
Step 02
Let Lovable build
Lovable reads the existing project, plans the work, writes the interface and the pieces behind it, then checks the result.
Step 03
Test and keep talking
Try the real workflow. If something is missing, ask for the next change in the same conversation instead of starting over.
Step 04
Publish and test live
Outside links can be blocked inside a preview. Publish first, then confirm them on your real site before troubleshooting.
Prompt one
Build the complete Idea Board.
This is the exact first prompt. Notice that it explains the audience, behavior, saved information, permissions, and where the feature belongs.
Redesign my Community page so it's a place my viewers actually want to come back to, and keep the style of the rest of my site. At the top, put an Idea Board where anyone can suggest a video with a title and a short description, no account needed. Show the ideas as cards, sorted by most votes. Anyone can upvote, one vote per idea, and refreshing the page shouldn't let them vote again. New ideas stay hidden until I approve them. Every idea has a status: Suggested, Planned, or Published. Only I can change it, with an admin login that only I can use. Under the board, add an Up Next section that automatically shows the ideas I've marked Planned. Then add a Start Here section for new visitors that links to my Videos, Playbooks, and free downloads. Replace the Disqus coming-soon box with the Idea Board, and keep the YouTube and Members Area cards.Prompt two
Add filters and published video links.
The first version worked, so I kept the conversation going. Lovable edited the existing feature instead of rebuilding it from scratch.
When I mark an idea as Published, let me paste in the YouTube link, and show a Watch the Video button on that card. Also add filter tabs at the top of the board for Suggested, Planned, and Published.A preview error is not always a broken feature.
YouTube refused to open inside Lovable's preview sandbox, but the same Watch the Video link worked on the published site. Test outside links on the live site before trying to fix something that is not broken.
