Free Lovable Editing — No Claude Code Required

Is Lovable AI free? With Google Antigravity, it is.

My last credit-saving trick only worked if you already paid for Claude Code. This one is free for everyone: Google's free AI coding agent edits your Lovable project through GitHub without touching a single credit — the closest thing to a truly free AI website builder setup I've found.

No paid plan. No Google Cloud setup. Just a Google account.

    170 credits before. 170 after.

I clone my Lovable app into Antigravity, make a live edit locally, push it back through GitHub, and show my credit count the whole time — it never moves.

    Why this one is different

The free fix that doesn't move the bill somewhere else.

    • Truly free, start to finish

No Claude Code subscription, no Lovable credits, no Google Cloud account. Just a Google login.

    • Pick your AI model

Gemini and Claude models sit in the same model picker. Switch anytime without paying extra.

    • Agents do the work

Antigravity's agents plan, write, and build on their own — you describe the change in plain English.

    • Zero credits on edits

Edits push through GitHub, so your Lovable credit count stays exactly where it was. I show mine: 170 before, 170 after.

    • Proof of what it did

The agent produces diagrams and test recordings showing what it actually changed.

    • Built by Google

Not an unproven startup tool — Google maintains it for agent-first development workflows.

If you already pay for Claude Code, my Claude Code + Lovable guide still works. If you don't, the Antigravity setup below is the free path.

    How it works

    Three steps. Ten minutes.

One prerequisite: your Lovable project needs to be connected to GitHub. If it's not, my last video walks through the two-minute toggle — it's the same connection no matter which tool you use after.

    1. Step 01

      Connect Lovable to GitHub

In your Lovable project, open Settings → Git and make sure two-way sync with GitHub is on. Copy the repo link — that's what Antigravity uses to pull your files. (Same two-minute toggle from my last video.)

    2. Step 02

      Install Google Antigravity

Go to the Google Antigravity site, download Antigravity 2.0 and the Antigravity IDE, install both, and log in with your Google account. No paid plan, no Google Cloud setup.

    3. Step 03

      Clone, edit, and push back

In the IDE, click Clone Repository and paste your Lovable GitHub link. Ask the agent to open the site locally, make your edit in plain English, then tell it to push to GitHub. Lovable syncs the change — zero credits spent.

    The exact prompts

Three plain-English prompts run the whole thing.

Once your repo is cloned into Antigravity, this is the entire workflow. Expect a lot of permission popups the first time — approve them and it settles down.

Can you open this site up locally?

Then: <describe your change in plain English,
e.g. "add a moving test graphic at the top of the page">

When you're happy with it: push to GitHub.

After the push, reload your Lovable preview — it will sync the change straight from GitHub. Your credit count won't budge.

Every step from the video written out — the downloads, the GitHub connection, the clone, and the exact prompts I use. Open it in any text editor, Notion, or Obsidian.

Honest note: I haven't found the free tier's limit yet — it may cap daily edits. Worst case you hit a wall and you're back where you started; best case you never touch a credit again.
